I don't know if this would help or not but usually train trips are cheaper. Have you looked into Amtrak? My wife and I have used it before and they're pretty nice.

Everything is going to be crazy expensive when it comes to flying now because you're booking something now for around the Fourth of July. You might get lucky and find a good deal, but I definitely wouldn't count on it.
