    Hmm I don’t exactly agree. People can definitely take the preference in a weird and unkind direction, but I don’t think there’s anything inherently bad about only wanting to date someone with your disability or with a disability. I don’t have a preference either way, but I can understand the draw to only want to be with someone who deals with similar struggles and experiences to yours.

    When I was in my teens I only wanted to date blind people, then I had a couple sighted partners and have had good experiences with them. My family wanted me to date someone whose sighted so that they could drive me around, which I feel that’s not a good reason for me. I wouldn’t want my partner driving me around all the time. I have my own dating preferences whether they’re blind sighted or a high partial. Hye giene is very important to me. Bad hye giene is a turn off for me.

    I hear ya. As for me, being a blind person, I would prefer to date a blind man. For me, it would just be easier to be with someone who understands what my life is like. I won't have to explain it, I won't have to try to hide it, I won't have to try to minimize it, I will not have to Justify the type of help that I might need. My partner will just understand. We can navigate together and help each other out. I would just be more comfortable in that type of setting or a relationship. Like someone commented earlier, you absolutely have a right to your opinion and to say it the way you want to say it. But I was a little taken back at you using the word gross as well. Your opinion. But for me to want a blind partner because I'm blind and it would just make things easier, I don't think that's gross.
