My thoughts on the latest iOS update 26.6.2

It looks like someone has commented, but for some reason, I cannot see it
Sometimes that happens cause they deleted it or something. In terms of your question, though I do know voiceover does read things a certain way, but I haven’t not noticed the misspelled thing but then again I’m the wrong person to ask cause I’m not on a newer phone yet.

@Esli what phone do you have if you don’t mind me asking? I have the iPhone SE third generation. and this happened on the latest iOS system update.

Dictation is majorly jacked up right now and it has a lot to do with this advanced dictation that they're adding to the pro model phones in iOS 27. For example, if you have an older phone that doesn't have 12 gigs of RAM dictation is really screwy because it's putting punctuation in places where punctuation doesn't even belong. It's putting periods where commas should be and not even doing? In some cases. On the pro model phones with this new advanced dictation you're supposed to be able to just talk like you normally would and it figures out your sentence structures and puts the appropriate punctuation where it belongs. But they have a lot of work left to do on it.

@Lamarcustech I don’t know I feel like in each update is getting a little worse and then better and then worse again and then better lol. It’s like they’re going back-and-forth but let’s hope they fix that on iOS 27

@Gordon that’s another thing I forgot to mention thank you for that. I hate it when it does that but I guess I don’t mind as much because what bothers me The most is the fact that it keeps announcing misspelled when everything is spelt correctly.

And it put a period after the word me and I had to take it out lol.

It's crazy how updates fix, then break, then fix, etc. But that's just how software is, so in order to get the new improvements and future updates, like natural voices, you need a lot more processing power, so they get you to buy new phones. Lol

Sometimes resetting your keyboard dictionary can fix that bug where it keeps saying every word is misspelled even when you know it's not. I had the same exact problem a couple of months ago and that's how I fixed it.

But the simple way to get rid of that is to go into settings, general, keyboard, and turn off, check, spelling, and grammar. The only thing that does is tell you when a word is misspelled, but since we all use voiceover, that feature is really useless to us because it's highlighting the words. So you can try turning that off and see if that fixes your issue and if you're good with it.

That's true Gordon, you could do that as well

Lamarcustech I mean usually you test the product before you even release it to the people, but I guess it’s hardly done anymore lol
