What's the sudden issue with profanity? This is a genuine question, I promise.

Profanity is just a part of life when you're in an environment like this. This is a place where you don't have to be professional, you can come out and be yourself and connect with others. We all have to be ourselves at work and be on our best behavior and be professional, so it's cool to have places like this where you can come out and be yourself. And of course some people use profanity some people don't. When I'm on the job, I'm not allowed to use profanity at all. Well at least when I'm on the Mike.

This is a really interesting way to look at it. I personally don't curse but I have friends that do, and in my mind it's not up to me what they can and can't say, it doesn't change the fact that they're my friends and I love them regardless.

It truly saddens me that in the year of our lord Satan 2025 people are still childish enough to police others' speech in such a way. I think it stems from two reasons though. There are some people who, unfortunately, possess so little critical thinking skills and autonomy over their own minds they can't help but be hapless victims of stringent institutionalization, whether it be due to their own legal guardians or blind schools. The fact of the matter is that many guardians and blind schools infantilize to a terrifying degree, and on some level, these hapless automatons are but victims of internalized infantilization. The other reason is just plain, good old-fashioned elitism. There are many self-described "intellectuals" in the blind community who define eloquence as a verbal diarrhea of complexicated verbiage and parlance of only the most advancified caliber. I affectionately think of the latter group as mostly grease-scented incels.

Fantastic fucking post! Cussing, I feel, has a certain eloquence to it that people refuse to hear and or listen to. You can actually learn loads about a person by how they swear, their word choice, even how they use swearing to get their points across.

But I think my favorite one of all time is why don't you go play hide and go fuck yourself.
