How do you express interest in people you’re romantically into, and how would you want someone to?

I am upfront and direct with my intentions.

Ah, the kiss principal, keep it simple stupid I like it, the direct approach is definitely the easiest one to take I think.

Well I suppose the worst someone could say is no and I’m sure being rejected a few times will be good for my ego.

That’s an easy answer. I don’t. I just stay living in this fantasy world of limerence and wonder why I’m still single.

Please provide plenty of purple pansies if you wish to court me. Also, I like when somebody expresses interest by demonstrating they are paying attention. Inside jokes, remembering something I mentioned in passing and sharing a link that is relevant things like that. All the ways that a person Can show that they like all of you. Not just your physical presentation, or your voice I guess in this medium. But also that they have honestly picked up a sense of you. 🫑🌶️🤣

I think the direct approach is probably the safest, one of the things I’ve recently learnt about myself is that I’m fairly oblivious when it comes to hints being dropped.

It's absolutely both. I deeply fear rejection, but I also want to hold onto the friendships I have because I don't form them easily, and I worry that if the feelings aren't reciprocated, the other person will feel too weird or awkward to maintain the relationship we had before. I don't personally mind if someone expresses romantic interest in me and I don't reciprocate, as long as they're normal about it, but I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with that.

@Calum and @Daisy I've historically overestimated that kinda thing so now I underestimate it. I also just prefer honest and direct conversation. If I ask someone how things are going I want to know how things are going, good, bad or neutral. I'm pretty good at smalltalk but I loathe it. As for friendships and rejection, yes. I have a hard time trusting people, I may view others very synically, and I feel like I can't be honest with folks. It takes a while to go from acquaintence to friend.
