I am so proud of you! First of all you went for two minutes and five seconds without saying a single cuss word. I give you a really big pat on the back for that one. I have heard about that app, I'm not sure how legitimate it is but I know it's been around for a while. But yes, people should always approach this stuff with caution and I'm glad that you let people know that as well. So now let's keep you safe and see if we can work on helping you with that annoying smoke alarm. Most of the smoke alarms that I've seen that are wired and use 9 V batteries for their backup. The smoke alarms that I've seen that don't have wires usually use two AA batteries. If you live alone or don't have anyone around to help you, I would be more than glad to walk you through how to get up there and install a battery.
