    I can see the reason people can start with Luke. Some believers approach the Bible looking at the genealogy of Jesus Christ, and the Gospel of Luke has the genealogy not only Jesus the son of David, but the line goes back to Adam, and even Adam the son of God because God created man, and before Adam there was no human. The Gospel of Matthew is only up to Abraham, but the line from David to Abraham from both Luke and Matthew should match.
