How frustrating it is to find someone when you’re totally blind and live in a rural area

I feel your pain. I used to be single and I was also rejected by a lot of sighted people. Even, people from church they all rejected me because I was blind. Then I met this blind woman in Atlanta. We used to hang out sometimes. She was amazing. She changed my mind about dating blind people. Now I am not afraid to date blind or sighted. I would encourage, you to keep on trying, keep on adapting, and keep on meeting people. Enjoy where you are in life. And someone will come along. Happy people attract happy people. Good luck!

Yes I would say just to get off the dating applications, and just go out and do something that exposes you to be around sided women; however, like you said it is impossible for you in such a small town.

Well, I just want to say that I’m sorry for you. And also, I have a blind person that I am with, obviously we didn’t meet online, in person, but we were able to get together though. Basically we were friends at a school that I first started going to for the blinds back in 2015, then we started dating back in near the end of 2022.

You are very brave and strong. ,Laiah, I think you have an an excellent idea. Perhaps you do not even have to look far to help blind single people find a partner. Just setup a hangout, here in Ramlio. Yes you might get a few crazy people in the hangout but you might get some good ones together. And hey if no one dates because they live to ofar away, then they can always be friends.

I think awareness and education have a lot to do with some of this. A lot of people (both men and women) likely see blind and run in fear of turning into a caregiver. Hell, I am obviously blind and if ever I meet a potential partner whose also blind I worry about that too. Being in a small town sucks for so many reasons, least of all the issue of exposure and the inability to get around. I really hope you do eventually find what you're looking for.
