Being desperate on the Internet is so unattractive

The fact that it's not attractive doesn't do anything towards removing my desperation, because it's more about my hormones than what other people think of me.
Lmao! Damn! That now has just been hammered directly where he needs to hit good target hit lol well said enough said lol and if you have just gotten out of a two-year relationship, do you like me and just chill for a while it’s OK. It sucks to be alone, but it’s better than just moving on and not fully healing. Been there, done that, not doing that again. Anyways, well sat on this cause there are definitely some weirdos or they come and creeping into your mailbox and be like oh your voice sounds sexy. Can I get to know you and you’re just like how do I know? Do I know you at all? I’m probably not can I hear your voice so I know who you are oh you don’t need to hear my voice block! Yeah, no I ain’t got time for that shit lol hope you’re well. Good to see you out here. You’re wondering why I’m dictating this and commenting. I am in a really loud place right now. There’s some music on so yeah you wouldn’t be able to hear me, but I hope you’re well at Shelby in Texas

I don’t really have anything to say about the original post other than to just simply respond to this one particular part, do not look for a significant other at the mall. Or at a coffee shop. No one does that. That’s like a Hollywood trope, no one is actually meeting their forever partner at the mall. Cmon now. The lady serving you soft pretzels or preparing your mocha frappuccino does not want you to hit on her. If you find someone looking for a significant other online to be creepy and desperate, the suggestion should never be, just start looking at the mall. THATS WORSE! At least online, there are specific places dedicated to looking for a partner. The mall is not it.

Lol really? Who cares where people find a relationship? If it's not bothering you, don't worry about it. If people wanna find a relationship online, they have every right too. Man, the things people complain about sometimes is crazy.

For me, it’s the double standard, same thing with the post from yesterday. The people who have the most to say about how finding people online is desperate and creepy, are the same ones suggesting that the better place to find someone is by, going to the beach? Or the mall? Or a coffee shop? Where people are just trying to enjoy their time, possibly with their family and friends? That’s just horrible advice. Ah yes, sending someone a message where they can instantly block you, say they’re not interested, stay completely anonymous, that’s just desperate and creepy. You know what you should really do? Go up to some stranger while they’re sun tanning on the beach, that’s sure to get you a well adjusted partner who understands boundaries. Like, do you not see the flaw there? Maybe it’s simply because I have a very visible disability to anyone who’s looking, but if someone came up to me while I was at the beach or the mall and asked me out, I would be more horrified and suspicious of their motives than I would be flattered. I can’t really say the same about online, and that’s even after years of having online relationships go bad.

I’m sorry, even the ‘back in my day’ argument doesn’t fly here either. People have been online dating since the 90s, and it really took off in the 2000s. Shortly before then, women couldn’t even file for divorce. I don’t think people realize, no fault divorces, meaning basically divorce where the reason isn’t because of abuse, only became a thing in the United States during the 70s. The 70s were not that long ago. Before then, of course people would meet each other in public spaces, because they didn’t have much of a choice. And women who got into relationships with these people, didn’t have much of a choice if they wanted to leave them. Trust me, you do not want to go ‘back’ to those days. Meet someone, pretty much have no choice but to marry them, and then have absolutely no exit? I feel like a lot of these comments are so out of touch. No one wants to be bothered when out in public by someone trying to date them, they just don’t.

You sit here and say to each their own yet judge the fuck out of people for 2 minutes straight. The world is definitely not always full of the love story fairytales you think it is. It’s a nasty world with cruel people, and sometimes online dating is just the better option for us. Also, blow your nose. That’s so fuckin nasty girlie pop.

I have seen people online who are finding a relationship who are not desperate, but just basically looking to find a relationship. Granted there are some creepy people out there who take it to a level it shouldn’t be taken, but you can find these people online and off-line. The problem is not people looking for relationships online or off-line, but will how they do it or how they behave around people.

@Insanely_bad thanks for explaining your point. However, my point was that both online and in person matching is possible but it is influenced by how you structure your approach. My other point was that in person encounters with the intent of dating was more prevalent in previous years but has declined since. I am not saying that one is better than the other, I am saying that everyone has a preference and we shouldn't go after how people prefer things to be. Moreover, as blind people we don't have accessible platforms such as tinder and such where we can choose more wisely what we are looking for, so in that sense I think using apps like ramblio are pretty justifiable. Especially when there are no rules or terms preventing you from doing that. So that was what I was saying

Right, I understand. My point only being that sometimes we have a tendency to idolize a past that we never lived in, and that past usually isn’t as good as it’s portrayed in media. Especially for people with disabilities, women, and other minority groups.

Exactly. Moreover, you can just block the creepy people online, whereas you gotta throat chop someone in person if they're not taking the hint to leave you alone.

Absolutely, and sometimes getting to know someone online gives you the ability to take your time to get to know someone better before you are ready to meet in person. Sometimes in person you don’t really have that option. I think both in person and on the Internet are both valid ways to meet people, it’s the people that are the issue rather than where you meet them.

Genuinely, what does it matter? Everyone’s different, some people like to take things slow, some people are straightforward with their intentions. You realize that doesn’t change because people are doing it in person? Like, you can still meet someone in person and immediately date them after four days, just like you can online. You can also meet someone in person, know them for years and not started dating until A lot of time has passed. And either way, there’s one thing in common with both of these types of relationships, they don’t affect you. They don’t involve you. They have nothing to do with you. Keep your nose out of other people’s business. If people want to get married after knowing each other for 12 hours, it’s none of your business. If people want to wait 10 years before even having their first kiss, that is equally none of your business. If people want to just aimlessly sleep around with absolutely no intentions of a long-term relationship, that is guess what? Say it with me? None of your business.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I'm starting to wonder if people are going to see that posts like these get a lot of traffic and just put them up to see what engagement they can get. Because this is starting to become a trend and honestly, I just came here to agree with everything Insane said and peace out. So yeah, if you tl/DL? Read Insanes shit. They are the only one approaching academic sense here. If someone voiced intelligence at some point well I guess I hope the people that bother to listen to posts over 1 minute got the point you couldn't make in a shorter post. Lol🚀

So I’m gonna come back with my own comment and say I think it’s a preference thing I do agree with what you were saying is if they can get out I think it’s healthy too, but I also think that it’s also healthy if you meet and you can always keep scrolling
