Great, on Facebook I was afraid of people taking AI photos of me and doing whatever they wanted with them. Now I'm here it seems I have to worry about people potentially cloning my voice. It's funny how that wasn't a concern but now it honestly has to be. To think that people like Ramon and what not on here just grabbing a bunch of our voice clips potentially, to just do similar things. And while there will be a good many of number of people who recognize it as fake, there are still too many people on here I fear that will believe a fake voice clone of somebody saying something egregious is real. Something needs to be done about This.

Yes, this is the ugly part of AI. People will abuse it and use it to try to fool and exploit people. I think it might be time for Josh to turn off new account creations for a little while like he did the first time and let things chill for a little bit.

But this kind of stuff really is dangerous because Matt Cooper is a moderator out here. Whoever is behind this fake profile could fool someone and get information out of them because they think they’re giving it to Matt Cooper to help them with their account but yet it’s not. So that’s why this stuff has to be stopped.

I have an idea that would probably help curve this a lot. So a new account is created the person makes a post but that post has to be reviewed by a system moderator before that person‘s account goes live and they have the ability to end up on the feed. Something like this for a little while might help get rid of some of this AI garbage.
