If build people are consenting willing adults able to enter into a relationship I don't see where age should matter. For some reason society has always made a big deal about this. I know that a lot of things have shifted especially with the girls because men these days don't seem to mature until later. It used to be around 25 and by the time a man turned 25 he was ready to make long-term decisions like that mentally. That age has gone up now and girls have adjusted to it as well. So it's really common to see girls dating guys that are 20 years older than them these days.

I used to be very strict with age of possible partners, not saying that these days I don't care at all, but I do tend to focus more on whether I actually get on with the person first of all, I feel as regardless of age, there are a lot of people who are either more mature or less mature for their age, how old a person is may not always be an indicator of what they are like. that is not to say that I don't have age restrictions, but i'm certainly more open these days

In regard to R. Kelly, he’s one sick fuck. I’m not black, but I can assure you, they would’ve had his ass a long time ago, even though they had substantial evidence, yet they waited for as long as they did, because let’s be real, nobody gives a damn about a bunch of black girls gone missing.

I think it matters less as you both get a bit older. For example, I don't think there's anything wrong with a 12 year age gap if the younger partner is say 28, and the older is 40. But I think if the younger partner is 18 and the older 30, that could be more problematic because the 18-year-old is going to do a lot more growing and changing between 18 and 30 than the 30-year-old is going to do between 30 and 42. By the time you get to your mid to late 20s, the person you are going to be going forward is pretty much set. Not completely rigid, but you have a much greater sense of Self, but in your late teens and early 20s you are still discovering who you are, what your belief system is and so on. That can cause problems in a relationship because the older partner stays on a pretty steady trajectory, and the things that the younger partner found attractive at the beginning of the relationship may become less attractive overtime as they change, or even outright unattractive. Of course that's not going to be true in all cases, but it definitely does happen.
